Looking out from the Plose, you have a breathtaking panoramic view over the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the west you'll see the highest point in South Tyrol, the Ortler. The glaciers of the Zillertal Alps and the Alpine Crest are to the north.
Brixen Dolomiten Marathon
The Dolomites Marathon is one of the top annual events on the Plose. Numerous participants from different countries and spectators from all parts of South Tyrol are drawn to this event. The route runs right past the Pension Geisler. The start is in Brixen/Bressanone and the finish line is located 2,486 meters high, on our local Mount Plose.
City and Mountains
Double enjoyment guaranteed! The juxtaposition of mountain and city is culturally fascinating. It ranges from 560 meters in the medieval town of Bressanone to 2,542 meters on our local Mount Plose.
The episcopal town of Bixen/Bressanone is more than 1,000 years old. The church, cathedral, cloister with Gothic frescoes and the Hofburg Palace make it a must-see for culture enthusiasts.
The Augustinian Monastery of Novacella is still a very active and lively monastery today. The atmosphere of the ancient monastery can be experienced in the guided tours.
Monastery of Sabiona
The Monastery of Sabiona, with four chapels, is a good 200 meters above Chiusa.
Tip: You can drive to the monastery town of Klausen over the S盲bener Promenade in around 45 minutes or by taking the Kreuzweg in about 30 minutes.
